We are pleased to share that CU-Med Biobank participated in the ISBER Global Biobanking Congress 2026, held at BGI Space and Time Centre in Shenzhen, China. The congress brought together biobanking professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge on emerging technologies, best practices, and international collaboration under the theme “Global Collaboration for Advanced Technology and Innovation”.
The team visited BGI headquarter, gaining firsthand insights into advanced genomics research, biobanking technologies, automation systems, and large-scale repository operations. The visit provided valuable perspectives on innovations that continue to shape the future of biobanking.
During the congress, CU-Med Biobank presented two posters highlighting recent initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, digitalization, and risk management in biobanking. The posters focused on How Digitalization Supports Excellence in Biobank Workflow & The Ultimate Defence Against Biobank Disasters
The congress provided valuable opportunities to connect with international experts, exchange ideas, and explore emerging developments in biobanking, automation, artificial intelligence, and quality management. The knowledge gained from both the BGI visit and ISBER 2026 Congress will support the CU-Med Biobank’s ongoing commitment to excellence in biospecimen management and research support.
